A mixture of (3S)-2-oxo-3-(benzoylamino)-5-acetyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-1,5-benzodiazepine-1-acetic acid benzyl ester (602d; 510 mg, 1.08 mmol) and 5% Pd/C (250 mg) in MeOH (10 ml) stirred under H2 (1 atm) for 0.5 h. The react was filtered and concentrated in vacuo 410 mg of 603d as a white solid.
