Reaction Steps
A mixture of 2.3 g of trans-4-(4-cyano-3-fluorophenyl)-cyclohexanecarbaldehyde, 1.2 g of 2-propylpropane-1,3-diol, 0.01 g of p-toluenesulfonic acid and 15 ml of toluene is boiled for 3 hours under a water separator and is cooled. Working up in the customary manner gives 2-[trans-4-(4-cyano-3-fluorophenyl)-cyclohexyl]-5-propyl-1,3-dioxane.
