In a manner analogous to that described in Example 17a, but starting from 4-chlorobutyraldehyde, 2-nonylbromobenzene yields the title compound in the form of a colourless oil; IR (CH2Cl2): 3600, 2960, 2930, 2860, 1470, 1055 cm-1.
