Reaction Steps
To a stirred solution of 2-[2-(3-bromopropoxy)-5-methoxyphenyl]-3,4-dihydro-4-methyl-3-oxo-2H-1,4-benzothiazine (1.2 g) and sodium carbonate (0.4 g) in dimethylformamide (5 ml), N-methyl-2-[(3,4-methylenedioxy)phenoxy]ethylamine (0.8 g) was added and the mixture was stirred for 2 hours at 80° C. The reaction mixture was poured into a mixture of chloroform (50 ml) and 2N hydrochloric acid (50 ml). The following treatments were carried out by the similar procedure as in Example 1 to give 1.3 g (70%) of the titled compound.
