Reaction Steps
To a solution of 13.9 g of 2-(2-chloroacetamidothiazol-4-yl)-2(Z)-methoxyiminoacetic acid in 30 ml of dimethylacetamide, 17.0 g of N-iodosuccinimide is added and the mixture is stirred at 60° C. for 1 hour. Then, the reaction mixture is processed as in Reference Example 37 to give 19.6 g (97% yield) of the above-identified compound as colorless crystals.
