Boron trifluoroetherate (0.1 ml) was added to a solution of tert-butyl 1-{4-[amino (hydroxyimino)methyl]-6-chloropyridin-2-yl}piperidin-4-ylcarbamate (Intermediate 54) (0.254 g, 0.69 mmol) in 1,1,1-triethoxyethane (1.5 ml) at room temperature. The mixture was refluxed for 10 minutes. The mixture was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel eluting with (n-hexanes:EtOAc; 70:30) to afford the title compound (50 mg).
