To a solution of 0.91 g 1-(3-methoxy-6-pyridin-4-yl-pyridazin-4-yl)-ethanol in 10 ml CH2Cl2 is added a suspension of 1.70 g Dess-Martin Periodinane in 10 ml CH2Cl2 at room temperature. After being stirred for 3 h, the suspension is extracted with 5% aq. Na2S2O3 solution. The organic layer is washed with water, dried over MgSO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The residue is purified by chromatography to give 0.83 g (92%) of the desired product as a yellow solid.
