Reaction Steps

Place 3-Chloro-2-methyl-benzenesulfonyl chloride (160 mg, 0.70 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (10 mL) and cool to 0° C. Slowly add pyridine (0.06 mL, 0.70 mmol) and stir for 15 minutes. Add 3-(4-Amino-2,6-dichloro-benzyl)-1-cyclohexyl-pyrrolidin-2-one (Example 183), 200 mg, 0.59 mmol) and stir for 12 hours. Quench with 1N HCl and extract with dichloromethane. Wash the extract with NaHCO3, brine. Dry over sodium sulfate, filter, and concentrate. Purify by silica gel (10-80% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to afford 181 mg (58%) of the title compound: Mass spectrum (apci) m/z=529.05 (M+H).
