Procedure
(rac)-3-Isopropyl-1-methyl-5-nitro-1,3-dihydro-indol-2-one (3.40 g) is dissolved in acetic acid (30 ml) and subjected to a catalytic hydrogenation with Raney-nickel (0.5 g) at 3 bar. After completion of the hydrogenation the mixture is filtered and evaporated. The residue is treated with acetic anhydride (10 ml) for 2 h at RT. The mixture is concentrated in vacuo to give the crude acetamide.
