A solution of hydrazine (29 mg) in ethanol (0.5 mL) was added to a solution of 3-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-methoxydihydrofuran-2-one (37 mg) in ethanol (1.2 mL), and the reaction solution was stirred at room temperature for 2.5 hours.
