1-Fluoro-4-nitro-benzene (1.00 g, 8.75 mmol) and 2,6-dimethyl-piperazine (1.20 g, 10.5 mmol) were dissolved in 100 ml of acetonitrile forming a yellow homogeneous mixture. Mixture is heated at 90° C. overnight. Mixture is reduced on rotovap to afford the product as an orange solid (1.40 g, 65%); 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 1.00 (d, J=6.3 Hz, 6H), 2.37-2.80 (m, 5H), 3.87 (dd, J=2.1, 12.4 Hz, 2H), 7.00 (d, J=9.5 Hz, 2H), 8.00 (d, J=9.5 Hz, 2H).
