Reaction Steps
The title compound is prepared using the previously described procedures and the following reagants: 1.85 grams (3.4 mmoles) t-butyloxycarbonyl-phenylalanyl-valyl-tryptophan, 10 ml of glacial acetic acid and 7.25 ml of 6.07 N hydrochloric acid in dioxane. Yield is 1.6 g (100 percent). Analysis calculated for C25H30N4O4.HCl.2H2O: C, 56.99; H, 6.93; N, 9.17. Found: C, 56.70; H, 6.43; N, 8.82.
