Reaction Steps
The solution of 0.025 g of tert-butyl {1(S)-(2-amino-1(S)-hydroxyethyl)-3(S)-[4-methoxy-3-(3-methoxypropoxy)benzyl]-4-methylpentyl}carbamate (Example 36b) and 0.8 ml of dichloromethane is admixed successively with 0.006 ml of triethylamine and 0.007 ml of benzoyl chloride and stirred at room temperature over 1 hour. The reaction solution is admixed with water and extracted with tert-butyl methyl ether (2×). The combined organic phases are washed successively with water and brine, dried over sodium sulphate and concentrated by evaporation. The title compound is obtained from the residue by means of flash chromatography (SiO2 60F) as a colourless oil. Rf=0.74 (200:20:1 dichloromethane-methanol-25% conc. ammonia); Rt=5.01 (gradient I).
