Reaction Steps
To a solution of 2-butyl-4-chloro-1-[[2′-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)[1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl]methyl]-1H-imidazole-5-methanol (0.48 g, 1.1 mmol), TEA (0.16 ml, 1.1 mmol) and DMAP (0.14 mg, 1.1 mmol) in DMF (3 ml), cooled to 0° C., a solution of 4-nitrooxybutyric acid pentafluorophenyl ester (0.36 g, 1.1 mmol) in DMF (3 ml) was added. The reaction was slowly warmed to room temperature and stirred for 3 hours. Then the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in EtOAc (10 ml) and washed with a buffer solution (pH=3) then with brine. The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4, concentrated and purified by flash chromatography (CH2Cl2/MeOH 98:2) to afford the title compound (0.41 g, 66%).
