The title compound was prepared from 4-cyano-3-methyl-benzoic acid methyl ester and 4-isobutyl-benzoic acid by procedures analogous to those described in Preparations 8B and 10A for the preparation of N-hydroxy-4-hydroxymethyl-benzamidine and 4-[5-(4-isopropoxy-phenyl)-[1,2,4]oxadiazol-3-yl]-phenylmethanol, respectively.
