Florosil (250 mg) and PCC (121.5 mg, 0.564 mmol) was added to a solution of {4-[5-(4-methylphenyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl]phenyl}methanol (75.1 mg, 0.282 mmol) and CH2Cl2 (1.5 mL) and stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with CH2Cl2 and filtered through a pad of silica gel. The pad was eluted with CH2Cl2 and 1:1 ethyl acetate:hexanes and the combined eluents were concentrated in vacuo to provide the title compound as a crude residue.
