Methyl (7E)-8-{2-[(4-cyclohexylbenzyl)oxy]phenyl}-6-oxo-7-octenoate from Ex. XIII was converted analogously to Ex. XIId using sodium borohydride into the corresponding alcohol. The yield was 92.2%.
