Procedure
Starting materials: N-(2-methoxyethyl)-2-oxoindoline-5-carboxamide and 6-chloronicotinonitrile. The residue was purified on a silica gel column using a gradient chloroform/methanol, (100:1 to 10:1), as the eluent. Yield: 28% of the title compound: 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 400 MHz) δ 10.89 (s, 1H), 8.56 (m, 1H), 8.49 (m, 1H), 7.98 (s, 1H), 7.85 (dd, J=10, 2 Hz, 1H), 7.70 (d, J=10 Hz, 1H), 7.59 (dd, J=9, 2 Hz, 1H) 6.96 (d, J=9 Hz, 1H), 3.45 (m, 4H), 3.27 (s, 3H); MS (ES) m/z 337 (M++1).
