Reaction Steps

To a solution of 5-[[[2-(isothiocyanato)ethyl]thio]methyl]-N,N-dimethyl-2-furanmethanamine (0.77 g) in dry acetonitrile (3 ml) was added a solution of 3-(3-aminopropoxy)-N,N-dimethylbenzenemethanamine (0.63 g) in dry acetonitrile (3 ml). After 1 hour the solution was evaporated to dryness to give an oil which was chromatographed (silica/methanol-0.88 ammonia 79:1). The appropriate eluate was evaporated to dryness to give the title compound (1.25 g) as an oil.
