Reaction Steps
To a solution of 98.0 mg of (2S,4R,5R)-2-(2-methanesulfonyloxy-ethyl)-4-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-5-[4-(3-methoxy-propyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[1,4]oxazin-6-ylmethoxy]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid benzyl ester (from example 18b) in N,N-dimethylformamide are added 94 mg of sodium azide and the resulting mixture is stirred for 24 hours at room temperature. The reaction mixture is diluted with water, extracted with tert-butyl methyl ether, dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is purified by flash chromatography (SiO2 60 F) to afford the title compound as a colourless oil. Rf=0.47 (EtOAc-heptane 1:1); Rt=5.65.
