Prepared from 2,3-dihydro-6-fluoro-2-propyl-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one via the intermediacy of the less polar diasteromer of 1'-benzyloxy-2,3-dihydro-6-fluoro-2-(2-propyl)-spiro-(4H-1-benzopyran-4,3 '-pyrrolidine)-2'one (Rf=0.3, 1:1 diethyl ether/hexanes) using the same procedure as that used for preparation of Example 7 from 2,3-dihydro-6-fluoro-2-(2-phenylethyl)-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one.
