Reagents, catalysts & solvents 1
Procedure
2 g of product obtained in stage A are heated to reflux for 2 hours with 2 g of sodium acetate in 20 cm3 of acetic anhydride. The mixture is cooled to room temperature and evaporated to dryness, the residue is taken up in a mixture of chloroform and water, the organic phase is separated and dried and, after removal of the solvents, 1.8 g of expected crude product are obtained. M.p. 118°-120° C. After crystallization in isopropanol, 1.2 g of pure product are obtained. M.p. 122°-123° C.
