| Product | 4-(quinolin-2-ylmethoxy)benzoic Acid | HCID 9838552 | — |
Reaction Steps
5.00 g of methyl-4-(quinolin-2-ylmethyloxy)benzoate is dissolved in 120 ml of ethanol and 90 ml of 1N sodium hydroxide and the mixture is stirred at room temperature for 4 days. The mixture is concentrated in vacuo to remove the ethanol. The residue is diluted with water, acidified to pH 6 and the resulting solid is filtered off and recrystallized from methanol to give 4-(quinolin-2ylmethyloxy)benzoic acid.
