Procedure
7-(2,3-Epoxypropoxy)-2,2-dimethyl-4-(1-naphthyl)chroman (3.15 g., 0.0088 moles) was dissolved in a solution of dimethylamine in ethanol (20 ml., ~40%) and left to stand at room temperature for 48 hours. Removal of solvent gave the title compound as a dark coloured oil which was converted to the succinate salt. Recrystallization from acetone gave a white solid (1.72 g., 49%) m.p. 123°-125° C.
