To a solution of 4-(2,3-difluoro-phenylcarbamoyl)-1-methanesulfonyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester (410 mg, 1.14 mmol) in dry toluene (10 mL) was added Lawesson's reagent (320 mg, 0.79 mmol). The suspension was heated at reflux for 2 hours. The solvent was removed by evaporation and the residue was purified by flash column eluting with 30% of EtOAc/hexanes to afford the title compound as a yellow solid (425 mg, 99%). MS (ES+): m/e=375.1 (M+H); LC/Method A/3.61 min.
