Procedure
To a solution of 1-[(R)-tetrahydro-2-furoyl]piperazine (1.89 g, 10.26 mmol) in ethanol (25 mL) was added (S)-epichlorohydrin (1.09 g, 11.8 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight, then concentrated in vacuo, yielding a pale yellow oil. The oil was dissolved in dichloromethane (100 mL), and washed with 1M H3PO4, dried and evaporated, to provide the title intermediate.
