Erythro 4-amino-1-[2-(1,4-benzodioxan-2-yl)-2-hydroxyethyl]piperidine (2.0 g, 0.0072 m) prepared according to Example 3(c) in sodium dried benzene was treated with cyclohexyl isocyanate (0.99 g 0.008m) in sodium dried benzene (25 mls). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The solid was filtered off and washed with benzene. The white solid was suspended in ethyl acetate and acidified with ethanolic hydrogen chloride until the solution was acidic. The title compound was filtered off, washed with ether and dried (1.47 g 46.5%)
