26.1 g (0.145 mol) of 30% strength sodium methylate were added over the course of 15 minutes to 31.0 g (0.145 mol) of 2-amino-4-chlorodifluoromethoxy-6-fluoropyrimidine in 300 ml of methanol while stirring at -10° to 0° C. The reaction mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 30 minutes and at 25° C. for 1 hour and then concentrated under reduced pressure and worked up as above. 31.6 g (96.6% of theory) of the title compound were obtained as a colorless oil with nD22 =1.5039.
