Using the procedure described in Example 1, except that the reaction mixture was heated to 90° C. for 2 hours, 4-[5-fluoro-3-(1-methyl-2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-6-ylmethoxy)phenyl]-4-methoxytetrahydropyran was reacted with Lawesson's Reagent to give 4-[5-fluoro-3-(1-methyl-2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-6-ylmethoxy)phenyl]-4-methoxytetrahydropyran in 28% yield, m.p. 136°-138° C.
