Procedure

Using the procedure described in Example 1 except that the reaction mixture was heated to reflux for 15 minutes, 4-[5-fluoro-3-(1-methyl-2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-6-ylthio)phenyl]-4-methoxytetrahydropyran was reacted with Lawesson's Reagent to give 4-[5-fluoro-3-(1-methyl-2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-6-ylthio)phenyl]-4-methoxytetrahydropyran in 85% yield, m.p. 133.6°-134.2° C.
