Reaction Steps
A solution of the product of Step B (26 mg, 0.096 mmol) NBS (16 mg, 0.95 eq) and AIBN (2 mg, catalytic amount) in CCl4 (2 mL) was heated to reflux for 1 hour and then concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified on a silica gel flash chromatography column (125×20 mm) eluted with 5% ethyl acetate/hexane to yield 21 mg (62%) of the title compound.
