Combine 5.0 g (0.01 mol) of the product of Step D, 0.5 g of 20% Pd(OH)2 on carbon (Pearlman's Catalyst), and 50 ml of ethanol and treat the mixture with H2 at 45 lb/in2 in a shaker flask until no more gas is taken up. Remove the catalyst by filtration and remove the solvent at reduced pressure. Subject the residue to short path distillation to yield 1.59 g of the title compound (bp 145°-148° C. at 0.012
