The bromomethyl ketone derivative X (3.2 g, 7.93 mmol), an intermediate in Preparation 5, was dissolved in benzene (30 ml), Ag2CO3 (2.62 g, 1.2 Eq) and 2-hydroxypyridine (0.93 g, 1.2 Eq) were added, and the mixture was stirred under reflux at 80□ for 3 days. The reaction mixture was filtered through Celite, concentrated under reduced pressure, and purified by column chromatography to give 2-pyridinyloxymethyl ketone derivative (XIf) (466 mg, Yield 14%).
