A 1.66 g portion of the mixed product obtained in Example 1 consisting (about 3:1) of 2-methyl-6-propyl-5-[[2'-(N-triphenylmethyl-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl]methyl]-5H-pyrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazole (compound 1d) and 2-methyl-6-propyl-1H-pyrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazole was treated in the same manner as described in Example 12, the resulting residue was subjected to silica gel column chromatography. Elution was conducted with a gradient from chloroform only to methanol-chloroform (3:17, v/v) and then the eluted product was crystallized from ethyl acetate to give 0.44 g of 2-methyl-6-propyl-5-[[2'-(tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl]methyl]-5H-pyrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazole in the form of colorless crystals.
