A mixture of 820 mg (1.3 mmoles) of tert-butyl 2-benzyloxycarbonylamino-3-[5-methoxy-2-methyl-6-(4-[1,8]naphthyridin-2-yl-piperidin-1-yl)-pyrimidin-4-ylamino]-propionate and 30 mg of platinum oxide in 50 ml of ethanol is stirred for 2 hours under hydrogen at atmospheric pressure. The reaction mixture is filtered on Clarcel then evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure (2 kPa). The residue is crystallized from diisopropyl ether. 570 mg of expected product is obtained in the form of an amorphous white solid.
