A mixture of 85 mg (1.32 mmoles) of tert-butyl 2-benzyloxycarbonylamino-3-[2,5-dimethoxy-6-(4-[1,8]naphthyridin-2-yl-piperidin-1-yl)-pyrimidin-4-ylamino]-propionate and 30 mg of platinum oxide in 50 ml of ethanol is stirred for 2 hours under hydrogen at atmospheric pressure. The reaction mixture is filtered on Clarcel then evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure (2 kPa). The residue is chromatographed on silica with a gradient of heptane-ethyl acetate-methanol of 100-O-0 to 0-100-0 then 0-95-5. 300 mg of expected product is obtained in the form of a white solid.
