Reaction Steps
0.5 ml of 1-Bromo-3-butene (4.93 mmol) and 0.94 ml of diisopropyl ethylamine (5.40 mmol) were added to the reaction solution containing 0.74 ml of 2,4-dimethoxybenzylamine (a) (4.93 mmol) dissolved in methylene chloride with stirring and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for overnight. The reaction mixture was washed with saturated NaCl solution, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting compound was purified with Silica gel column chromatography with EtOAc solvent as an eluant to give 436 mg of the pure title compound (b) (yield: 40%).
