Reaction Steps

A solution of 4.0 M HCl in 1,4-dioxane (2.8 mL, 11.0 mmol) is added to a solution of {4-[2-(2,6-dichloro-phenyl)-4-isopropyl-2H-pyrazol-3-ylmethoxy]-2-methyl-phenyl}-methyl-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (1.85 g, 3.7 mmol) in dichloromethane (25.0 mL) at 0° C. The reaction mixture is then stirred at room temperature for 2.0 h. The solvents are removed by evaporation under reduced pressure. The residue is partitioned between EtOAc (50 mL) and 5% aqueous sodium bicarbonate (30 mL). The organic layer is washed with brine (40 mL), dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to a residue. The residue is purified by flash chromatography (EtOAc/Hexane) to afford the title compound as a foamy solid (1.25 g, 84%). LC-ES/MS m/e 404.0 (M+1).
