A methanolic solution of ammonium (2.0 ml) was added to 50 mg of the compound prepared in the above 2), i.e. tert-butyl 4-(1-tert-butoxycarbonyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)-3,6-dihydro-2H-pyridine-1-carboxylate and the mixture was stirred for 5 hours. The solvent was evaporated in vacuo and the precipitate was filtered to give 32 mg of the title product as a white solid.
