A solution of (2-{3-chloro-5-[[2-(2,2-dimethyl-[1,3]dioxolan-4-ylmethoxy)-ethyl]-(2-fluoro-phenyl)-carbamoyl]-phenoxy}-ethyl)-pyridin-4-yl-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (0.035 g) and water (0.010 ml) in mixture of trifluoroacetic acid (1 ml) and dichloromethane (1 ml) was stored at room temperature for 3 h and then the solvent removed under reduced pressure. The residue was subjected to preparative hplc to give the title compound (0.022 g) as a colourless gum by concentration of the required fraction under reduced pressure and drying by repetitive addition of acetonitrile and concentration under reduced pressure.
