5-Benzyloxy-1-(3,5-dichloro-pyridin-4-ylmethyl)-6-methoxy-phthalazine (4.3 g, 10.08 mmoles), prepared as described in example 71, in glacial acetic acid and 37% HCl was put in a flask under stirring at room temperature for ½ hour, then at 60° C. for 1 hour. The mixture was brought to dryness, taken up more times in toluene to give a solid which was triturated in acetone and dried to give 4.04 g of the title compound (yield: 98%).
