The 3-(4-nitrobenzyl)hydantoin derivative as dissolved in methanol (about 10 ml per mmol of hydantoin derivative) and hydrogenated with palladium/carbon in a hydrogen atmosphere until reaction was complete. The catalyst was filtered off and the solvent was removed on a rotary evaporator. The 3-(4-aminobenzyl)hydantoin derivative was obtained.
