Reaction Steps
To a solution of 2.55 g of the compound obtained in Step B (4.47 mmol) in 30 mL of methanol there are added in portions 558 mg (14.75 mmol) of sodium borohydride. The reaction mixture is stirred for one hour at ambient temperature. 50 mL of 1M HCl are subsequently added, and the methanol is evaporated off. The aqueous phase is subsequently neutralised with NaHCO3 and then extracted with dichloromethane. The organic phase is washed in succession with H2O, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated to dryness. The oil so obtained is purified by flash chromatography (dichloromethane/ethanol-ammonia gradient). The title product is obtained in the form of a solid.
