To a solution consisting of phenyl(5-(2-(pyridin-3-yl)-1H-imidazol-5-yl)pyrimidin-2-yl)methanone (Example 67) dissolved in methanol is added sodium borohydride (1 molar equivalent) at 0° C. The mixture is allowed to reach room temperature and is stirred one hour. The mixture is partitioned between ethyl acetate and water and the organics washed with brine, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated to afford the title compound.
