A mixture of 3-[1-(2,4-Difluoro-benzyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridin-3-yl]-benzonitrile (7c) (0.057 g, 0.163 mmol), K2CO3 (45 mg, 0.327 mmol) and isobutyryl chloride (21 mg, 0.196 mmol) in dry CH3CN (1.5 ml) was stirred at 60° C. for 1 h. Water was added, the solution was extracted 3 times with CH2Cl2, the combined organic layers were washed once with brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtrated and the residue was purified by reverse phase HPLC (CH3CN/water gradient with 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid) to give 48 mg of 3-[1-(2,4-Difluoro-benzyl)-5-isobutyryl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridin-3-yl]-benzonitrile (8b).
