Piperidine (0.95 mL, 9.65 mmol) was added dropwise to a stirred solution of (R)-(9H-Fluoren-9-yl)methyl-3-[2-{(tert-butoxycarbonylamino)methyl}-5-chloro benzylcarbamoyl]thiomorpholine-4-carboxylate (1.20 g, 1.93 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (50 mL) and the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 h. Volatile solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by reverse phase combiflash column chromatography (C18; eluent: 10-100% acetonitrile:water) to afford the title compound (0.64 g) as a white solid.
