A mixture of 2-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)pyridine-4-carboxamide (400 mg, 2.13 mmol, PREPARATION 7), 1-(2-bromo-ethyl)-2-chloro-benzene (557 mg, 2.55 mmol) and K2CO3 (587 mg, 4.26 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) was stirred overnight at 80° C. LC/MS showed the reaction was completed. It was then purified by flash column chromatography to give the title compound (228 mg, 33%) as a yellow solid. [M+H] Calc'd for C17H15ClN4O, 327.
