A mixture of 2-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)pyridine-4-carboxamide (PREPARATION 7)), 1-bromomethyl-2-chlorobenzene (260 mg, 1.28 mmol) and K2CO3 (176 mg, 1.28 mmol) in DMF (8 mL) was stirred overnight at rt, LC/MS showed the reaction was completed, purified by FCC to give the title compound (83 mg, 42%) as a yellow solid. [M+H] Calc'd for C16H13ClN4O, 313. Found, 313.
