2-Methoxyethyl carbonochloridate (18 μL; 0.15 mmol; Sigma-Aldrich Corporation) was added dropwise to a stirred solution of 5-fluoro-4-(4-fluoro-2-methoxyphenyl)-N-{3-fluoro-5-[(S-methyl-sulfonimidoyl)methyl]phenyl}pyrimidin-2-amine (Example 15; 50.0 mg; 0.12 mmol) in pyridine (1.1 mL) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at RT for 24 hours before the batch was concentrated. Ethyl acetate and aqueous sodium chloride solution were added. The batch was extracted with ethyl acetate (2×). The combined organic phases were filtered using a Whatman filter and concentrated. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC.
