N-[2-{[tert-butyl(dimethyl)silyl]oxy}-1-(4-formylthiophen-2-yl)ethyl]-N-(3-methylbutyl)benzenesulfonamide (125 mg, 0.252 mmol) was dissolved in 0.84 mL THF. Titanium(IV) ethoxide (106 μl, 0.504 mmol) and 2-methylpropane-2-sulfinamide (36.7 mg, 0.303 mmol) were added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was then poured into an equal volume of brine and filtered thru Celite and then washed with EtOAc.
